As I assume the position of President of the Yunus Emre Institute, I begin this role fully aware of the responsibility to share our rich cultural heritage with the world. Serving the mission of our Institute—which takes its name from Yunus Emre, one of the most important representatives of a powerful cultural heritage centered on humanity and the spoken word—is both a great responsibility and a valuable duty for me.

Since its founding, the Yunus Emre Institute has gone beyond simply flying the flag of the Turkish language; it has built bridges of the heart across different regions and has become one of the most trusted institutions for intercultural dialogue and international cooperation. Teaching the Turkish language and sharing our culture and arts with the world through accurate and high-quality resources is a noble mission that serves mutual understanding and peace on a global scale today.

Language is not merely a means of expression for a culture; it is also its memory, its way of thinking, and the vehicle for its relationship with the world. While we strive to ensure that Turkish is learned and better understood in various parts of the world, we also place great importance on sharing the rich cultural heritage embodied in our language with people around the globe. With this understanding, we view advancing the Yunus Emre Institute’s efforts to promote the Turkish language, culture, and arts internationally as one of our fundamental responsibilities.

In the coming period, our core vision remains to further enhance the effectiveness of our activities, which aim to share all elements of Turkish culture—in the broadest sense—with the world. While strengthening the quality of our education through innovative approaches, we will resolutely continue to introduce our cultural heritage to the entire world by effectively utilizing all the opportunities offered by cultural diplomacy. Our primary goal will be to expand Turkey’s bonds of friendship through collaborations in the fields of academia and the arts that we will establish at the international level.

In this process, I believe it is of great importance to bridge the experience of the past with the needs of the future. Our priority will be to continuously develop our institutional capacity and working methods, to take into account the needs and cultural sensitivities of different regions, and to contribute to the establishment of lasting relationships in the fields of education, culture, the arts, and academia. After all, the true value of cultural exchange is measured not only by the number of people reached, but also by the quality and sustainability of the relationships established.

As we turn this new page, we will work diligently to strengthen the Turkish language and culture on a global scale and to contribute to our shared future.
